The other day in England, by pure happenstance, there was an impromptu partial reunion of two bands that impacted my life immeasurably. Although I’ve seen all of them individually from time to time, it was the first time in 19 years that we were in the same room at the same time.

My first band in school was The Madisons (1961 – 1963).  The photograph shows Harvey Shield (drums), myself (bass guitar), and Tony Lander, aka Barham (rhythm guitar), the missing members being Dave Collis (lead guitar) and the late Mick Duvall (vocals, piano).

The second band was Episode Six, formerly known as The Lightnings (1963 – 1969).  The photograph shows the three of us that were in The Madisons (Tony now promoted to lead guitar) plus Sheila Carter (vocals, keyboards), the missing members being Graham Dimmock, aka Carter (rhythm guitar) and Ian Gillan (vocals).
It was a great moment for all of us
